Our trip to England – year 8
- Geschrieben von: Winkelmann, E.
On Sunday, 5th March, we started our trip to London at 9 pm – at school. When our double-deckerbus finally arrived at the ferry that brought us from Dünkirchen to Dover. We were only a few minutes away from Canterbury, which has a beautiful old cathedral and where we had our first free time.
In the evening, when we arrived at Redhill, all the students were picked up by their host families and got to know their new homes.
On Tuesday morning our host families brought us to the meeting point, where our bus alredy waited for us. After a while, we arrived in Greenwich, where we took a walk through the park to Westminster Pier and took an Uber Boat to the centre of London. We walked through the City London and did a little bit of sightseeing until we took a break at St. Paul`s Cathedral. In the evening we participated in a cricket workshop, wich was a lot of fun!
On Wednesday, we took the bus to Beachy Head and enjoyed a coastel hike across the Seven Sisters. Then we went to Brighton, we had five hours of free time – wich was perfect for shopping. The day ended when our host parents picked us up.
On Thursday morning, we brought our luggage to the bus and went to the O2 Arena. Then we took the Tube to the Tower of London and visited it. After the visit we took the Tube again to Piccadilly Circus where we had a short free time. Then we walked to the London Eye and had a ride on it. The view over London was amazing.
At 7 pm we went by bus back to the harbour and took the ferry to France. After eleven hours with breaks we finally arrived at our school where our parents waited for us.
